Privacy and Cookie Policy

Effective date: September 1, 2026

This policy explains what personal information ZAC Tools Wholesale Store ("we," "us," "the Store") collects through zactools.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, contact us using the details below.

What we collect

We collect information you give us directly, and a small amount collected automatically:

Account and company information — name, email, phone, and company/branch details when you register for a wholesale account. New accounts require review and approval before wholesale pricing and ordering are enabled.
Order information — billing and shipping addresses, items ordered, purchase order numbers, and related order history.
Contact form submissions — name, email, and the message you send us.
Literature downloads — the email address you enter to receive a catalog or document download link.
Share a Cart — if you use this feature, the recipient's email address or phone number (for WhatsApp) that you provide, so we can send them your cart link.
Server and usage logs — standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, collected automatically by our web server and used for security and troubleshooting.

Because this is a business-to-business wholesale store, your order history may be visible to other approved users at your same company account, depending on how your company's account is set up.

For the list of cookies we use, see the List of cookies we collect section below.

How we use it

To create, verify, and approve wholesale accounts.
To process, fulfil, ship, and support your orders, including will-call pickup arrangements.
To keep accurate accounting and order records, including syncing order and customer information with our QuickBooks Desktop accounting system.
To respond to contact-form messages and support requests.
To send a literature download link, and to add that email address to our newsletter list, only when you submit the literature request form.
To send a cart link on your behalf when you use Share a Cart.
To protect the site against fraud, abuse, and spam, including through Google reCAPTCHA on forms such as sign-in, account registration, contact, newsletter sign-up, literature requests, and Share a Cart.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not run analytics or advertising tracking scripts on this site.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed to run the Store:

Accounting — order and customer records are synchronized with our QuickBooks Desktop system for invoicing and bookkeeping.
Shipping carriers — UPS and freight carriers receive the shipping information needed to deliver your order, including your own UPS account details if you choose to ship collect on your account.
Email delivery — order confirmations, account emails, and literature links are sent through Microsoft 365.
Hosting — the site and its data are hosted with our infrastructure provider, who processes data only to operate the Store.
Google reCAPTCHA — form submissions are checked by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Google Fonts — the Store's typefaces are loaded from Google's font services (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) when a page opens. Your browser's request to Google includes your IP address and browser details. Google does not set cookies for these font requests, and we send Google no account, order, or contact information. This is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

How we use cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the site — keeping you signed in, remembering your cart, and protecting forms from forgery — plus a small number of functional cookies that make pages load faster. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The table below lists the cookies the Store may set; which ones you actually receive depends on how you use the site, and several are only set once you sign in or add items to a cart.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encrypted connections, access controls, and secure hosting — to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit access to it to staff and systems that need it.

We do not collect card numbers on this site. Orders are placed on purchase-order/payment-terms billing; if that changes, this policy will be updated to name the payment processor and describe how card data is handled by that processor rather than stored by us.

Retention

We keep account and order records for as long as your account is active and afterward for as long as needed to satisfy accounting, tax, and other legal obligations. Literature-download email captures and contact-form messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and to maintain our newsletter list, unless you unsubscribe sooner.

Your choices

You can review and update your account and company information by signing in to your account.
You can unsubscribe from newsletter or literature emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails, or by contacting us.
You can contact us at any time with questions or requests about your information using the details above.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, to request a copy of it, to request that we delete it, and to request that we correct inaccurate information, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for accounting or tax purposes). We do not sell or share personal information for money or for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To submit a request, email support@zactools.com or call 805-444-0002. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

Shine the Light: we do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes, so no Shine the Light disclosure is applicable.

Links to other websites

Our site may link to other websites, including manufacturer or carrier sites. Once you leave our site, we have no control over those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our practices change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
